No. It is a '60's style fuzz- reedy and without very much bottom end, that's why I added the fat switch. It will hiss a bit, the tone control has a limited range and the ge trannies are affected by temperature.
Will I be able to reproduce every classic Jimmy Page sound?
No. His Tonebender tones are mainly those on the first two albums. Pagey was a great engineer, many of his tones relied on clever miking techniques and equalization, the judicious choice of various small amps and a variety of different guitars.
Does it clean up with the guitar volume control?
No, not really. It will clean up a bit with the sustain control backed off, but really it is what it is- med to high gain, smooth, mid-rich and with plenty of poke and wail.
